This book like the other book we own really delivers! My son who is not quite 2yrs wants to read and push the buttons. I didn't notice it's for 3plus and it doesn't matter. We read this book along with 100 first trucks ( priddy) and a tab vehicle book... He can't get enough. As this is my second book I already know that the buttons will last awhile even with a toddler pushing them 80 bazillion times.

Noisy Trucks is a favorite book among the young and old here. The kids really like the interaction of feeling textured truck pieces and pressing pages to hear the various noises they make. As an adult, I like the amount of words on each pageâ€”just enough to add interesting content and still keep this age group engaged.This twelve page book highlights five trucksâ€”big rigs, monster & fire trucks, backhoe and cement mixer. The photos describing them are beautiful and varied. The sounds are authentic and little fingers can easily find and press the buttons to make them. The last page of the book makes all the truck noises from previous pages at onceâ€”a grand finale to the end of a charming book.There is a related video worth watching in the Amazon product details if you're interested in hearing some of the book's sounds. I have included photos of the twelve page book.

The book seems aimed for younger children, but the buttons are somewhat hard to press. The noises are also very short - especially the semi truck honking. They really do not even sound like the real noises. Also, the button on the last page is supposed to replay all the noises, but it only makes the semi truck honk, which is the most disappointing sound. I have the Noisy Farm Animals book and was very happy, but I'm going to return this one for a refund.

My daughter LOVES all of the "My First Touch and Feel Sound Books," and Noisy Trucks is no exception! She has become obsessed with trucks lately, so this book is great for her. The amount of text is perfect (not too little, not too much), the content is appropriately informative, and the pictures are engaging. A little word of caution though... the noise buttons are a little hard to push, especially for my 19 month old daughter. However, I kind of like that she has to work a little but harder to hear the noise...it gets her brain thinking. Overall, we love these books!

This is our second time buying this book. We had bought it for our son before he was born. He loved it as he grew up but he wasn't nice to it. It endured a lot of abuse and broke. He still wanted to read it and play with it every night. It is a great purchase and would buy it a 3rd time if I had to. The truck sounds are very real!

My grandson loves his books and the trucks. I am actually a bit disappointed in the construction. The sounds only play when you find one very specific small spot which is rather hard for a toddler to press in this book. Would think the sound pad would be easier for a toddler to enjoy by himself. He gets frustrated trying to find the exact little spot and looks at us with confusion as to why we can find it and he can't. This is even though he quickly learned the area he needs to press.

MY GRANDSON ALREADY HAS THIS BOOK AND ADORES IT. HE HAS LOVED IT A BIT TOO MUCH, AND GRADUALLY DESTROYED IT, SO I WAS REALLY HAPPY TO FIND A REPLACEMENT. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS IF THE BOOK HAD NOT ARRIVED WITH STONE DEAD BATTERIES. I'M GOING TO HAVE TO BUY REPLACEMENT BATTERIES. BUT, THE BOOK IS WORTH IT.*UPDATE: BATTERIES REPLACED AND BOOK IS WORKING GREAT.

My son LOVES these "noisy" books, especially this trucks one. This is actually the second one of these I've purchased. They tend to come apart after a lot of heavy use, but for how much he enjoys them and for the price I don't have a problem replacing it every 6 months to a year until he outgrows it. I can definitely recommend!

I was required to get this book for class, and given the option to either buy it or rent it for half the cost. I'm really glad that I bought it though, because it has just about everything you need to get started with digital photography. It has step by step instructions, high quality images that show you what it's talking about, and lots of useful information for any photographer-especially a new one! I'm just glad I get to keep it.

I am taking a photography class and this was the required textbook for the class. Currently, I am renting this textbook, but I am going to buy it after the class ends. It has great information for anyone who would like to learn photography.

This is a great resource and explains everything nicely. Bought it for photography classes I took in college. Kept it in my collection. Vendor provided great service.

I got the kindle version, very handy to bring along with when you are shooting and to class. The only disadvantage is when the instructor says to flip to a certain page number. It's hard to determine exactly what page it is at first. It is a good guide so far, easy to understand.

I'm renting the kindle version of this book for a class, and I've been sorely disappointed with the quality. The first thing I noticed is that the picture quality is terrible, which is laughable in a photography book, and they're blurry at all zoom percentages. This is even more frustrating when trying to read the charts, which is literally impossible because of this book's terrible image quality. I've also encountered one image (in chapter 8) which was missing. A gray box replaced the photo with a message about not including the image for copyright reasons. Since I'm paying to rent the book, that makes no sense. Overall, I've only had bad experiences with this book, and I usually love Kindle books.

Not my first choice, but the instructor loves this book. It is informative, but not my first choice. I find it is hard to stay focused and read it.

I am an RN on the acute Neuroscience unit in a moderate-sized 380 bed hospital. I'm also a stroke nurse so I do administer TPA in the ER I bought this book was really impressed with how it read and used it to study for my SCRN exam. I also bought the companion book once it came out, and I used the app that goes along with the other book, Common Sense experience and I passed the test. Very happy would recommend!

good and basic. But not enough to use to study for the SCRN (stroke certification ) exam. this is what I would leave at the unit secretary's desk for floaters. But if you are dedicated to stroke, get a denser thicker book and just learn it all. Your patients will love you.

I'm studying for my SCRN and this is a great resource to start with. It covers basic anatomy and physiology, and basic information about stroke. I highly recommend this as a refresher prior to buying the Comprehensive Stroke Review book from AANN.

Great resource for medical professionals involved in improving stroke care within their facility. As a nurse, I found a lot of great recommendations for post discharge tools, education, and primary/secondary prevention info. In next edition would like to see more info on thrombectomy eligible patients and guidelines surrounding care for these patients. CT perfusion study imaging is an area that I would like more information about as I continue to build my skill set as a professional. Overall, great resource that I will reference over and over again.

I am a SCRN! I read this book first before I did my other studying and I found that it covered most of the topics I saw on the exam and it explained them well. I highly recommend this book.

This book is written in a way that you can remember key points especially if you are preparing for the SCRN. I have started reading it and I already know it is a great investment and will be in my reference library even after I do my exam. A friend of mine who just passed the SCRN said this book was the most helpful when studying for the exam.

One book where I think the dust jacket reviews nailed it rather well. Two chosen at random: "An utterly beguiling journey into the dark ages of the North Sea. A complete revelation. Pye writes like a dream." Or another one: "A brilliant history of the Dark Ages showing the growth and development of science, business, fashion, law, politics and other significant institutions - a joy to read and reread." The period between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance that the author puts from roughly 700 CE to 1400 has traditionally been seen as a period of human stagnation - the Dark Ages. As the author shows in endless intriguing anecdotes from the era, the area surrounding the Baltic and North Seas was a very lively place. This isn't a typical political history of kings and armies, rather more of a ground-level view of what people were up to in their daily lives, how they interacted with each other on not only a local level, but more importantly, in trade and business; the tale of the Hanseatic League is fascinating - the first international trading cartel, and one with no home address. The amount of research done by the author is staggering - and what makes it so much fun to read; where and how he managed to dig up the documents, personal correspondence and other material used in the book would probably make a book in itself, and draws the reader into personal communication with individuals and an appreciation of "what was in the wind" at the time. Pye also has a sly and at times wicked sense of humor. A fun and very informative book.

As someone who grew up on the North Sea coast of East Anglia, I was really looking forward to learning more history about a body of water that was very influential while I was growing up in England. Well, I certainly wasn't short of new information after reading Pye's book, but I'm not sure how much I retained and very uncertain as to how much I enjoyed accessing it. I found his organizing structure difficult to follow, we seemed to meander back and forth over a millenium or so, and from topic to topic almost randomly. A chapter on money might suddenly veer into religion or politics, topics dealt with separately in other chapters. Also, at times, it was not clear to me what role, if any, the North Sea was playing in the saga that unfolded. Clearly, Mr Pye has assembled a wealth of interesting historical facts concerning periods of history that are fascinating, and not always well-documented. But a good editor would do well to re-organize this content to improve its accessability.

The premise of this book -- that the regions around the North Sea contributed much more to European culture than is generally recognized -- is a fascinating one. Indeed, I found it so fascinating that I ordered the book from the UK before it was available in the States. In terms of the author's subject matter, I was not disappointed. He does indeed examine local cultures that usually pass below the historical radar, most notably Frisia in the early middle ages, but also Flanders under the Dukes of Burgundy, and the Hansa. And he does argue convincingly that these cultures had an impact on the modernization of European culture. And, he does tell many interesting stories, and introduce many interesting people.Why then only four stars? First and foremost, Pye seems to me to overstate the strength of an overriding North Sea culture, and to overstate its impact on European history. The cultures of the Low Countries and those of Scandinavia were all trading cultures, but that doesn't make them the same thing. Nor, for me at least, does their financial orientation explain the monetization of European culture nearly as much as Pye suggests -- what about Italian banking? There is a great deal in this book, but not perhaps as much as the author implies. Secondly, as another reviewer suggests, the book is repetitive. Finally, the arguments are not always tight, and some subjects seem to be introduced simply because they are of interest, not because they have that much to do with the subject at hand.Those who are interested in emergence of European culture, particularly in its earlier phases, are likely to enjoy this book. But be prepared to take it with a grain of salt, and be prepared to skim.

I just started reading this book and it's so good that I'm giving it 5 stars with no reservation. Even though it says it's for intermediate Spanish students, I think if one is beginning on this journey of learning the language, this would be an excellent tool to have along the way. Clearly written explanations for a lot of concepts English speakers can use with many of those tricky expressions one can stumble over in Spanish. Also, it has a simple introduction to the Subjunctive Present thrown in for good measure. It's not as scary as a lot of folks think it is since he just touched on it and he made it look easy.The layout and table of contents is also easy to follow and that makes it great for learning. I wish I had a book like this when I started but I'm so glad that I've got it now . I bought the Kindle version and added the Audible option, as for me it helps to hear the Spanish. Like I said, I just started the book and am loving it. Can't go wrong with this one.

Such a great way to learn a language, especially if you are already tangentially familiar with it. Quick, easy and all you need to get started. Definitely doesn't replace true immersion learning, but gets you started.

This book has answered so many questions I had about using certain words and phrases. Obviously concepts in one language don't translate word for word to another language. This book is a short cut to learning those peculiar usages. It's not a comprehesive guide. I would describe it as an interesting compare and contrast of how common concepts are expressed in Spanish vs English.I'm looking forward to a complete series of these books. Please keep writing and publishing Joe Kozlowski.

Spanish is said to be very easy,but for most it is not. Spanish as it is taught in schools actually puts the student at a disadvantage. Because it is not spoken by the native speaker the way it is taught in most schools. The student speaks in an unnatural confusing way.Books like Joe's help normalize the speaking of the language.

I'm a Spanish teacher, and this is one I would recommend to intermediate students. It assumes prior knowledge, so not for beginners.

I love how the book is laid out in small topics - the concepts are clearly and succinctly explained with good examples and without too much detail making it easy to cover a few a day or go back and review later. As a new learner, I tend to hope that a direct translation from English will get my point across, but this book highlights where specific Spanish usage will make a conversation a bit less gringo, I expect. I'm glad I got the Kindle version for the phone so I can refer to the concepts on the go.

Not quite what I expected. I learned German a long time ago in college. I really liked that format and I was looking for a conversational format book and I thought maybe this one might be it. It wasn't, for me. I'll still stumble with it and will spend more time in it. It may "grow on me" and I'll update the review if that happens.

Her work has been produced at the Lookingglass Theatre and Goodman Theatre of Chicago; on Broadway at Circle in the Square; in New York at Second Stage, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Manhattan Theatre Club; and at many other major regional theaters around the country and abroad. She has also directed at the Metropolitan Opera. Zimmerman is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship and won a Tony Award for her direction of Metamorphoses. I loved this play write. It was great and helped me understand the story in a up to date wording!!

I love Zimmerman's work and this is a pretty interesting adaptation. She gives many great ideas but leaves the director with some freedom to create their own vision.

The book was in great condition, just didn't really care for it. I got it for a class.

This was a waste of my money until Iâ€™m at least playing roles in my 30â€™s-40â€™s. Most of the female monologues are for middle aged women. Half the book is for men. Paid for half a book and then half of that half is unusable. If youâ€™re a mature actress you may find better use of this book.

I bought this for my daughter who is constantly searching for the perfect monologue for her auditions. This has worked out perfectly for her.

I used one of the monologues from this book for an audition and left them rolling in the isles!

Itâ€™s a great book, the monologues are quite impressing.

There are more monologues in this book that work for me than I've found in other monologue books I've purchased in the past. The length of them are also wonderful, clocking in at around a minute and an a half each. Each monologue has a solid beginning middle and end that tells a story along the way.

Excellent. Use for my students @ThePrepNJ. Great variety and substance.

I purchased this for my tween daughter. There was not one monologue that we could use in it. Every female monologue was either a married woman complaining about her man, a raped woman, or some other sexually abused situation. Not for young people!

quality of the book is poor at the very best. I need the research part of the publication and can't access it unless I run to a computer and only if I'm a member of NANDA...NOT my idea of quality. Its printed goggly woggle on the page etc. and it was still expensive.
