I loved this story. How can you not love a strong, determined female lead character like Shay? I enjoyed reading Jeff's thoughts concerns on meeting the girl and maintaining the relationship. The story is so good that even though the ending is good, you will want more.

This book could have been about alot of things, but instead brushed against topics with No follow through. It could have explored the stress a twin feels when the other is more successful. It could have explored the stress successful black men feel to date black women. It could have explored stalking. It could have explored the stress parents place in their kids to adhere to their parents values. Instead this book presented possible plotlines and then ignored them as it meandered along. Very disappointing. Ironic that it lacked spark.

Absolutely LOVED this book! I'm a huge fan of Ali Dean and was a little nervous starting this because her Pepper Jones and Stark Springs series were AMAZING! I was worried this new book would be a bit of a let down in comparison. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! I couldn't put it down. If you haven't read The Line Below yet, you NEED too! Highly recommend!

Ali Dean has blown me away again! I love her books! And this one is no exception! Shay is a great character her love for swimming has me already to jump in the pool and work on my form. I can't wait to see if and where she takes this character in her next book. Thank you Ali Dean!

I was really impressed with Ali’s writing. I don’t know her background but she really wrote a great sports romance like she had lived the life of a collegiate swimmer. The characters were interesting and the story was very relatable even that college age group is way far in my past. I will be checking out additional books by this author.

Ali Dean has become one of my top 3 favorite authors! I never second guess my decision to one-click her titles. The Line Below was perfect. The ending was a fun way to wrap up the book. Can't wait for her next release!

I purchased this book specifically for reference work for a manuscript I hope to actually work on one day. The book came undamaged and in excellent condition. The book is rather thick and bulky but it is an exhaustive reference of the best quotes from the master of literature himself, C.S. Lewis. I find myself looking something up for reference but becoming mesmerized by the poetic and artistic prose of this great writer. I will spend hours just reading through this masterpiece and find myself sharing the tidbits of wisdom with others who my have the unfortunate luck of being in the same room with me. This collection is compiled by Wayne Martindale and Jerry Root. They have done an excellent job and have gone to great lengths to find the best quotes of C.S. Lewis including footnotes and cross references. This will be a wonderful addition to any home or school library.

I have been reading C.S. Lewis for at least 60 years and often refer to something he wrote. This puts his thoughts into an easily accessible format.

As other reviewers have noted, everything Lewis wrote is amazing. The profundity of his thought and the simplicity of his presentation are two of the characteristics which mark him as a literary master. This book then gathers gems from Lewis' corpus, they are grouped topically, and indexed. Thankfully there are also references made to the source from which any given quote was taken, so that future reading is made easier to find. This is certainly a good reference book to have for reflection, inspiration or instruction.

Love having this book handy. Especially when I'm writing a sermon or asked a question that I can't seem to put into the right words although I know what I'm trying to say. CS Lewis has a waywith words and having an index full of categories comes in handy.

I love C. S. Lewis's perspective and beautiful way with words. It's nice because we have a similar belief system. I very much enjoy this book because of the accessibility of quick "nuggets" which is helpful to me.

Honestly, if I can play piano with this easy book version of popular favorites then anyone can. I suppose I'll reiterate what everyone said when I was reading reviews about this piano book before I bought it, and that is there are not 500 songs in the book. There are 34 songs, and though that's not many I jumped on it for an opportunity to play "Stairway to Heaven" and found I've been playing numerous other favorites like "Stand by Me" and "The Sound of Silence" with equal enthusiasm. Granted this is relatively easy material to play since I haven't touched a piano in over 50 years, so to be able to jump right in there and start strumming wonderful harmonies with some very simple backup chords tells you this is something pretty much anyone, children included, could have a lot of fun with. My only complaint is the book is so tightly bound that to get it to stay open while playing can be the biggest challenge of all. I finally tore all the pages out, got a three-ring binder, hole punched everything and popped it into the binder. Now I can flip pages with nary a problem. Nice variety of songs as well. I really feel this should be a four and a half star review as the binder issue is not such a big deal that it's worth the loss of an entire star. Some of the other songs included; All I Have to Do is Dream, Billie Jean, Blueberry Hill, Born to Run, The Boxer, Desperado (can't wait to tackle this one), Earth Angel, Fake Plastic Trees, Great Balls of Fire, I Can See for Miles, I Got You Babe, I Wanna Be Sedated, I Want to Hold Your Hand, In My Room, Knocking on Heaven's Door, Like a Rolling Stone, Love Me Tender, Maggie May, O-o-h Child, Paint It Black, People Get Ready, Rock Around the Clock, Sail Away, Save the Last Dance for Me, Sh-Boom, Stayin' Alive, Wake Up Little Susie, The Weight, White Room, A Whiter Shade of Pale, and Will You Love Me Tomorrow. Overall a great mix of music with lots of choices. This is great sing-a-long stuff, too.

The cover here is VERY deceptive. Quickly browsing for top-40-pop songbooks with as many tunes in each as possible, I assumed that this book (and the other volume) contained 500 songs. It was only after receiving these books that one might notice that in VERY SMALL print, there exists a tiny preamble to the enormous eye-filling "500 GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME," and it reads: "34 selections from the"buyer beware i guess. and rolling stone - go to h. e. double luncheon hockey sticks

I am a beginner piano player, and I chose this book because it had a lot of oldies that I really like. It has a great variety of songs, and the notes aren't too hard to play. I gave this one four stars simply because of the binding. It should really be spiral bound for convenience when playing the piano. I did take my book and have it spiral bound at Office Max for about $3.50, so that is always an option.

For me, these are well known songs and just the right difficulty for me to play just to play without having to "practice." Love the arrangements.

I found that there is a variety of songs and styles in this edition. Some do not provide a challenge, from a learning point of view, but on the other hand it is good to be able to sit down and play the music at first sighting. I like the clarity of the type, the display of chords and suggested fingering. The only problem I have, is that it is difficult to keep the pages open, because of the binding I suppose. I use a larges clothes peg to pin the pages in place.

12 Soldiers is an outstanding book about the early stages of the war in Afghanistan.  What I enjoyed about this book is the attention to detail on how our soldiers lived among the Afghanistan people. What they had to go thru, the battles they fought and also a look at their personal lives.  I walk away with an even a greater appreciation for all our men and women in uniform who sacrifice so much so we can enjoy our freedoms. Thank you for your service to our countryI most definitely recommend this book. Â

It did not disappoint. I found it a little confusing at the beginning, but eventually the players moved into place. There were times when the battles seemed to go on a little but eventually I couldn’t put it down. I also enjoyed Stanton’s In Harm’s Way. He is good at getting the feeling of what it’s like to be there and of presenting the cultural perspective of both the US Special Forces and the various Afghani and “foreign fighters”. I was sorry to finish the book - Didn’t want it to end.

Extraordinary men doing unbelievable feat's in support of Afghan war lords who they had to win over before there plans to defeat the Taliban had any chance of working.Incredible true story . An excellent job of writing. I truly could not put it down.

A very well written account of arguably the most successful employment of US Military personnell in history. As an Operation Enduring Freedom Vet, The ODA"s represent our best and brightest in their finest hours. Highly recommended! RR

In telling the story of the initial mission into Afghanistan after 9/11, of small Special Forces teams supporting native Afghan forces, the author shows a strategy that worked. Men who lived and fought with the Northern Alliance and respected their customs had more impact than a much larger conventional force would have. An excellent read about brave American and Afghan soldiers and a meeting of very different cultures.

This story brings to life, and memory, the lives of men who gave their all in a battle against those who supported 9/11, but the real story is that of an elite group if individuals, who were trained and adaptable to the context of the situation around them, able to win not just the battle but the hearts of those they served, in a battle that was not their own. This says so much more about the true character of these men then just the heroics they performed, not to belittle them, and sets a standard of what a man of war looks like. In the end, the author provides a great example of what is required to win future wars, where guns are not the "go to" but a diplomatic solution that typically alludes the politician but is part of the arsenal of the Special Forces will bring forth lasting victory

While not the conventional writing style Doug Stanton get you from the first chapter. Then the author goes through in detail the story of each key member of the story and how they got the word. From the beginning and the details like the CIA and the duffle bags of cash, to the politics of war lords, this boook is a great read! This is a complete story, that there was not enough time or money to get it on the big screen. It would have had to to be a mini series. Well wot=Ruth the read to understand Afghanistan in the early days of Us activity.

An ole Navy buddy of mine with whom I share some NGFS experience as members of The Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, observed that when he compared the bombing history of Vietnam to JDAM's in Afghanistan, he knew we'd never lose again.Perhaps so, tho Mogadishu would throw a wrinkle in that belief.However, BOTH experiences (V & M) illustrate the VITAL ROLE that proverbial "boots on the ground" play.Movies like this (ergo, American Sniper & Lone Survivor) bring tears to me eyes as I am constantly reminded of a warrior's hopeful ponder: where on earth do we get men like these?FORTUNATELY, America's technology will continue to help us "shorten the kill chain" and reduce the carnage: 58,000 in Vietnam, nearly 90% less for A&I.This is now the 2nd movie about Afghanistan, Lone Survivor was the first, that gave me HOPE for the Afghan people.Biloxi is now home to some wonderful survivors, known as "Vietnam's Boat People." I was even fortunate enough to design and build Navy warships with the daughter of a family who sought refuge by boat.THIS movie is precisely WHY I prefer to wait and buy the DVD, Bluray (and now 4K) movie so that I can watch the "extra" features that tell some of the back story. Plus, DVDs provide the HUGE ADVANTAGE of not having to sit in a theater with the inevitable "obnoxious patron" (more often than not, teens) AND one can pause the movie, utilize subtitles (when increased vol does NOT result in more voice clarity, ok ok, gunfire did take its tool on hearing.And did I mention that popcorn & beverages are MUCH CHEAPER at home than at a theater?The only disadvantage (and THIS IS NOT TRIVIAL): how do I catalog and store 3700, and counting, DVD copies of movies I have collected? THAT is a LOT of space not counting all the GREAT books I buy as well!

This is an excellent history of the BCP and includes an overview of the history behind the revisions. It also gives a good background on various Prayer Books found throughout the Anglican Communion.

Terrific reference work.

This is a wonderful (if now somewhat dated by a few years--Prayer Book revision does go on) reference work about the history of the Prayer Book and about editions thereof. Reading it has expanded greatly my knowledge of my chosen religious tradition and of my denomination's siblings around the world.

This is the classic, and it is a thorough examination of prayer books throughout the Anglican Communion. A must-have reference for those seeking in-depth knowledge of their prayer book or a comparison among prayer books.

This is a very ambitious project and you get a bargain for your buck. The print is small and there is a lot of information packed into these fine print pages, but I was disappointed by the lack of detail concerning the Prayer Books of 1549, 1552, 1559, 1604 and 1662. I would have preferred some indepth discussions of the significant theological developments in these versions before launching into the variations of the BCP in the worldwide Anglican communion.

Excellent purchase. Arrived on time, and it's a fantastic resource when studying the Common Book of Prayer. I am so glad I bought it.

Omg 😮 this book 📖 was fire 🔥 those twins where a mess and I’m glad they finally got two nice guys to match their gangster. Bri ass was tough as nails but Nico was time enough for her. It’s crazy how Stasi was doing all that shit starting and trying to make Nico jealous that her ass didn’t even see the signs that she was being used and Destiny ass just let Stasi keep her ass in mess not realizing that she was just a place holder in Stasi sneaky ass always trying to scheme.. I’m glad it turned out better for the sisters and the guys.

Stasi thought she was going to get Nico she was sadly mistaken instead she got a crazy mfer and didn't even know his name talking about she wanted to make Nico jealous. Poor Destiney she just got caught up because she didn't want to tell Stasi no . She almost lost life. Nico d@mn pappy said some real f#$k up s#^t to him saying that his mama should of survived instead of him. What kind of of that to say when he paid off your debt. I'm glad the twins found love.

Omg this series is so lit. Rock was doing way too much for my blood. Bri was catching hell a lot of times getting shot twice and one of them was to protect her baby twin. Quell now her butt didn't wanna listen when people tell her something. Now my boys Nico and Taj they are my babies. They taken protectiveness very hard. And I'm glad my girls finna have their own little family's of what they didn't have. And I'm glad Destney finally grew up u can't make anyone be with u. U did it again with yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of ur books.

I'm happy that the twins wre able to get there happily ever after. Brielle is tough, but she loved hard, she stood her ground with Nico he needed to be done with Stasia! Raquel and Taj, I absolutely loved them together and there opened. Rock hot what he deserved. Stasia well she was casualty of war. Destinie, well she learned the hard way as well, but lived to tell about it

I liked most characters but Brielle and Stasia. They got on my last nerve. Taj and Nico was stand up guys. So glad that Rock got his just deserve. Overall good series. Raquel really loved her character. She opened up fully to Taj and made a family.

I gave it five stars because these two authors meshed to very well together. I love that ending and how it wasn't predictable. I would recommend this book because it was entertaining and these two author are underrated.

When this reader reviewed "Tammy Wynette: A Daughter Recalls Her Mother's Tragic Life and Death" by Jackie Daly, he wrote: "When the ultimate Tammy story does appear, this reviewer will stand in line to buy it". "Tragic Country Queen" is that ultimate Tammy story. This is all the prospective purchaser needs to know. It's all here: The 5 marriages, Tammy's 57 Billboard hits, the shocking medical issues and her clandestine death in 1998 at the age of 55. Author McDonough has done his homework: There are 45 pages of endnotes, and a comprehensive discography, all supplemented by a documented long trail of personal interviews. Author McDonough delivers some heavy body blows to the industry: By 1977, "Music City was beginning its great ascendancy into a 2nd rate factory for 3rd rate soft rock". By 1995. "Music City's conversion to a soft rock assembly line was now complete". Those who agree with those sentiments will be right at home with TCQ. They mirrored the feelings of this reviewer, who is unable to be as eloquent. Some of the following reviews are a bit harsh. It could be those folks don't understand the rueful changes that took place in Nashville since Tammy first hit the charts in 1967. The only caveat attached here is that author McDonough is preaching to the choir. Serious, veteran devotees of True Country (that is pre-1975-1980) are most likely to enjoy TCQ. Others may be disappointed. We members of the choir will keep that 5th star.

I loved this book! At first, I didn't, to begin with it was a little slow, the author spends a lot of time on each person in Tammy's life that played a major part in her stardom. I did not understand why so much was spent time on these people when the book is about Tammy Wynette but as I read more of the book I understood "WHY" he went into such great detail. It was important that each person's personality and background was revealed in order to understand the impact they had on her life. I LOVE LOVE LOVE TAMMY WYNETTE always have and always will. I never knew the all of the turmoils she went thru in her life, I knew a lot of about her early years but next to nothing about her later years. This book told me this and showed me her life w/George Richey and the hell she went thru livig with this man. The author of this book was very careful to document all information printed, he referenced each statment at bottom of each page and noted when he was unable to confirm a story or not. To summerize, What an eye opener this book was, and if you go see the movie Country Strong, this movies so closly resembles Tammy Wynette's life toward the end, read the book and see the movie, you will see

It's not just the story of Tammy Wynette, it's the story of a time and a place that, as McDonough says, will never come again, a time when we listened to WCKY in Cincinnati and WWVA in Wheeling, West Virginia, and country singers SPOKE to us in cheating songs, drinking songs, tales of love gone astray. At first the country charts amounted to "twenty-nine guys and Kitty Wells." Then Tammy Wynette came out of Tremont High School in Red Hook, Alabama and started singing and, said a friend, "it was like a great wind came through. Nothing was ever the same."George Jones became Wynette's third and most significant husband. "When it comes to singing," she said, "no one can touch him. They have never been able to and they never will." His drinking led to their divorce. He finally straightened himself out, meanwhile Wynette became addicted to painkillers. She died in her 50s, and in pain.There's a lot of great music described in this book, and a lot of sadness. But then isn't that what country music is all about?Ken Byerly, author of Mountain Girl and other books.

I must confess that ever since I heard that voice- described as a tear - I fell in love. At the time I was only five or six years old. The cotton candy aqua net soaked wigs were her armor, but love sweet bitter love her passion. There has never been and will never be another voice like hers. I understand that her voice was as fragile as her body. That voice even her speaking voice is like a million tiny threads of silk. I adore her. That a major motion picture has never been made is for the future's greater gain. Though I also adore Loretta Lynn, Tammy is just other worldly- just ask Loretta. I found it amazing that both were big enough people to be good friends unlike the behavior of current so called stars. I liked this book and at times I was a bit ashamed of it's gossipy tone. This writer has included every line about her both good and bad. You will not put down this one and cherish every moment with Tammy.I still play her music when I do womanly tasks like cleanin' the house or washin' the clothes. I look at that last line as a tribute not a slur.So much of my childhood is wrapped in the sounds of most of her number one hits. I think I could spell the word d-i-v-o-r-c-e before I could spell my own name. Read this book and laugh, love, and cry with the ladies of the trailer parks of Tennessee! I'm Tennessee born and raised (growing up in the county next to Dolly's) so I can say that.Given the lack of books on her, I welcome good ones like this one. You ca feel the writer's own feelings as he recount some of the more shockingly sad things in this book. None of those bother me more than G Richey's strangle hold on the money making name he selfishly guards. I can sense the love Tammy had for her own children and I cannot believe she would have given her girlspractically nothing. In fact, Richey's new chick and child have it over Tammy's girls, too. Sadly, when you buy any of her material,George gets paid. After he justly goes his latest chick and child will be living it up in a doublewide before you know it. Still, I cannot say that people should not buy her music. It is a double edge sword. I enjoyed this book as a guilty pleasure.
