This book is especially helpful for people who are new to fly fishing, but is also for seasoned fishers. The pages are made of a thick textbook, shiny paper which make it more durable to water (but it is still probably not a good idea to dunk in a lake or river). Overall very happy with this purchase! It is informative for a "little book"; images and quality / clarity of writing is great.
I bought this for Father's Day for my husband, whom has just recently gotten into fly fishing and fly tying. He packs it everywhere! I wasn't expecting it to be as big a book as it was, for that price, but also small enough to take with you! It's a very nice little book, with lots of great info! My husband really enjoyed it!
If anyone enjoys fly fishing I recommend this book very highly. Novice or expert. It's a great read, and you'll learn or re-learn things.
Why read a multitude of books on fly fishing when the authors took the mystery out of the sport! Easy to follow and very informative. Simple illustration coupled with easy to understand text that any level fly fishing enthusiast can appreciate. As the authors point out proper technique and how to solve problems you might encounter you will be amazed how your fishing becomes more enjoyable and successful.
It has very good advice and I enjoy reading it regularly. Sometimes repetitive, I think that having been written by two authors who alternate their speech has more cons than pros

Like Harvey Penick's original title for golf, this version has lifetimes of good experience, observations and advise distiller into a smart little volume. Regardless of how far along you are in a lifetime of fishing flies, there's something to learn or ponder here.
I traded in some miles on my credit card for this little Red Book on Fly Fishing! Wow! What a great book! Deeter & Meyers are the authors. Two highly respected Outdoor writers who give you 250 great tips on fish for trout. Great info on casting, presentation,selecting files and reading the water. You can turn up your skills with this book, And its a great price too!
For any angler, this is a must read. As much anecdote and parable as tips and tricks, this is entertaining and informative front to back.
